I have a top loaded GE washer model GTW330ASK0WW.

It tends to walk, not a little, but sometimes as much as 6" to 8" during the spin cycle when I have something larger (like a cushion or a beach towel) that may cause it to go off balance.

I checked the lid's level both ways and adjusted the legs accordingly, didn't seem to help much.

May be I am not using the settings correctly?

The LOAD SIZE selection has SMALL, REGULAR, LARGE, SUPER.

The other dial has WHITE HEAVY, WHITE NORMAL, WHITE LIGHT, COLORS HEAVY, COLORS MEDIUM, COLORS LIGHT, DELICATE, CASUALS, SPEED WASH, DRAIN & SPIN, BULKY ITEMS

Not sure if any of these settings would tone down the spin speed? They seem the same (to me). Is BULKY ITEMS supposed to compensate for items that may easily go off balance?

Finally, if I screw down some 2x2s around the bottom of the washer to stop it from walking, will that solve the problem or will it end up jumping?

Usually there are bolt holes inside the housing on the floor, where you use LAG bolts into the floor joists to secure a "walker", if you are properly leveled.

Is the floor level?

If not there is no way to level your machine proper.
