Has anyone used the Wagner Paintroll Plus? This is the product that allows you to suck paint up into the handle, then you manually force paint out as needed.

We purchased a couple to prime and paint our new drywall for our newly finished basement. I like that I don't have to go to the paint tray all the time to load up my roller, but I seem to have a difficult time controlling the amount of paint that comes out of the roller, and I end up getting some streaking. I've done the primer coat and first of two finish coats, and I am worried about getting streaks in the final coat.

Any tips? I don't feel as though I am applying too much force on the roller, or giving the roller too much paint (or perhaps I am!)

They are really more of a pain than they are worth. It's hard to get the paint flowing out of one of those just right. Yes, they are a pain in the ass to clean.

I’ve seen that product. It seems more trouble than it’s worth. I’ve been using a roller / tray for my entire life. Honestly, going back to the tray is not a big deal. And, it’s a lot easier to pour more paint into the tray (and a lot less of a mess).

There are 3 painting tool inventions that should go on the dung heap of bad ideas. The Paintstick, the paint trim tool with the plastic shield, and the roller head you fill with paint. All are absolute garbage.
