Greetings from Canada,

I have given up trying to figure this out with online videos. How to properly vent the shower and toilet in my basement floor. Pics attached. Toilet will attach closer to main sewer. The two pipes going up wall, one on left is vent and one on right is washing machine drain. Is there an easy way from the pics to ensure venting is good enough. The toilet is on the right but plumber put it too far from wall. And the shower is one the left, also was put too far from wall. I am moving them closer to main stack. I was thinking both the shower drain and toilet drain could tie directly to the main stack with a vent between them (left wall pipe)....as next there are no other appliances on the line from there to the street.

Thank you for any help.

You have a toilet draining past an unvented shower. You need to add a vertical vent on the shower in a wall that will go at least straight up until it is 6 inches above the flood level rim of the shower. Then you can go horizontal. But when you tie into other vents make sure you are 42 inches above the floor. Again this is IPC not Canadian code.

Thanks Ghostmaker, what is the origin of your handle it is very catchy!.....as you can see that is new concrete I smashed out myself. The plumber put the drain in wrong place, note entirely his fault as I didn't know I was going not going to have a centre drain in my costco one shower and pan. Though I have to move toilet back as it to is too far out as you can see by the pic I have to figure out how to get vent pipe off shower drain and behind a fibre glass shower wall. A 45degree angle to the pipe running up wall (right side wall pipe) may work....or further down line closer to the toilet drain may get me past wall and in between toilet some how? Thanks Pete
