So I was running wire and came across a pipe that ended inside my wall with no cap. Figured out it was the drain under the washing machine tray that’s used for emergencies if washer overflows. I guess they forgot to finish installing it so luckily I came across it. It was close to my sump pump so I ran it into there. Do I need to vent that pipe before it empties into the sump pump well? Figured i would vent it like they do hvac into the floor drain if I needed. Was thinking I don’t need to because it’s meant only for emergencies but could be useful if a lot of water is rushing down it. Thanks!
