Hi

In my basement the previous owners plumed hot/ cold water in the a next to a basement drain. The also have a standard stove plug nearby.

My guess is they were going to install a small kitchen in the basement.

My question is about their plan to drain the sink into a basement drain.

Is that allowed? Just does not sound right.

Appreciate the advice.

You mean a floor drain? You can drain into drains in the floor and whatnot. Best to post pictures and we can tell you what's allowed and what's not.
