Just curious what all of your thoughts are regarding what to put behind the urinal?

I was originally considering tiling the wall with a subway tile for sanitary reasons, but I'm now wondering if I could get away with just painted drywall?

What would you do in your home?

Not paint- you ever seen what urine does to paint surfaces? :surprise:

Use tile, FRP, PLam, anything thats washable and nonporous.

IMO, Id probably find a real nice laminate that looks like granite. I just recently did my kitchen counters with it and it looks great.

My second choice would be tile. I feel its more labor intensive than a sheet product.

FRP is good too if you want the restaurant/industrial look

Botton line is somethig stain resistant, waterproof and cleanable

Eplumber you can actually now get FTP in other choices than the tradition raindrop White stuff you see all of the time in restaurants. The only reason for the white is so that they can tell if the place has actually been cleaned or not.

Urine big trouble if you use tile back there, the tile might clean up but the grout won't. Go with the laminate. Also a good spot for plastic baseboards.
