I have a delivery coming tomorrow. ALL my basement flooring. I just read something on the Pergo site and I am worried. (Can't call them until tomorrow)
"Pergo must not be installed over any floor that has a
sump pump—i.e. should there be a bathroom at a
below grade level or on-grade concrete slab in the
home and a sump pump is located on that belowgrade
level flooring or on the on-grade level subfloor,
then Pergo flooring cannot be installed anywhere on
that floor."
Now I'm thinking of refusing delivery!:furious: I have a TYROC subfloor and thought I was ready to go.
Any ideas why they would state this? Is it just a potential overflow issue with the sump I hope?
My sump RARELY kicks. Only during SEVERE storms. Even during Hurricane Sandy it may have ran about 10 times total! If the sump overflowing is the only issue I'll take my chances. (Have a backup built in too)
Thanks for putting me at ease......I hope.

If you mean a laminite floor, most are not below grade rated. The humity in the room and rising moisture from the slab can distroy the flooring.
Engineered wood flooring installed as a floating floor would have been a better choise.

Thanks. Calling Pergo tomorrow.
Engineered sounds good but if the Pergo works (it was rated for below grade)
I'm going to stick with it. Wife likes the color and the Eng. will cost me a little more headroom that I can't afford. lol

** Spoke with Pergo rep. That wording is in there because of the potential overflow or back up of a sump or floor drain.
They will not honor any warranty. I think I'll be just fine. I have a back up to the back up sump. And a ..................generator just in case. lol
