URGENT-ish: Roofing guys broke kitchen drain vent

The vent runs up behind our kitchen cabinets (all built in now) - up a PVC pipe to an 90 degree elbow, very short horizontal run (like 1 foot) then to another 90 with adapter to a metal pipe sticking out the roof. They broke the first 90 degree PVC elbow.

I don't really have time to fix it right now, and they want to know what to do. They were going to try to put duct tape around it!

What is the best way to handle this? should I just have them put the metal pipe through the roof and then I can worry about it later?

They broke it and should be calling a Plumber to fix it. I assume they are insured. Duct tape is not made for blocking sewer gas.
youre right
yes they are insured

calling the boss.

Good move. Roofers aren't plumbers and I would not permit them to work on the plumbing they damaged. They or their insurance should hire a licensed plumber.

Duct tape. Pooey!
