We recently purchased a home and found out that the outside water nozzle (where you would connect a garden hose) is facing up. It works fine, but we're afraid that the water won't drain properly and we'll be left with frozen and cracked pipes in the winter.

Is there an easy solution? I'm assuming the previous owners had it this way the entire time they've owned the home so it may not be an issue...but perhaps?

Thanks for whatever advice you can give!

Cut the line inside, unscrew the fixture from the outside of the house, and flip back over. You can use a "Shark Bite" or Compression fitting to reassemble the piping, if you are not comfortable with using a torch.

Got a picture? Tried just tightening it more?
Need to see it you see if it's sweated or threaded on.
Is it steel, copper, Pex plumbing?
