Unlevel Floor

1339 Views 2 Replies 2 Participants Last post by  handyman923
I am tiling our masterbath floor with 18x18 porcelain tile. I have found that one edge of the room (about 2-3') slopes up by about 3/8". The rest of the room is pretty level. This is on a 2nd floor with plywood subfloor.

Any ideas on how to level this out?

I thought of using self leveling underlayment, but I figure I will be pouring it to about 5/8" thick once I add in the mesh. That's a lot of bags for a 100 sq ft room.

Thanks in advance for any ideas.

What is the mesh for?
What are you putting this large tile over? Not directly on plywood I hope?
That size tile will require a very rigid floor system. What sort of joists do you have? Size, span and spacing.
