Unlevel Floor

1340 Views 2 Replies 2 Participants Last post by  handyman923
I am tiling our masterbath floor with 18x18 porcelain tile. I have found that one edge of the room (about 2-3') slopes up by about 3/8". The rest of the room is pretty level. This is on a 2nd floor with plywood subfloor.

Any ideas on how to level this out?

I thought of using self leveling underlayment, but I figure I will be pouring it to about 5/8" thick once I add in the mesh. That's a lot of bags for a 100 sq ft room.

Thanks in advance for any ideas.

The floor should be plenty stiff... 2x10's at 16"oc spanning 10'.

The mesh would be for applying the self leveling underlayment over a plywood substrate.

If I don't use the self leveling underlayment, I would use backerboard or Ditra over the plywood.

Thanks.
