underlayment overkill?

Have a 1950's house, slab on grade, and want to install laminate flooring in living room. Will be taking up existing carpet and tile to do it. Already bought Pergo "Everyday" plank flooring. Planning on the rolled Silent Step type foam underlayment, but am wondering if I should add another layer of rolled cork, for added warmth and accoustics? Good idea, or waste of money?

If you can afford the extra money, do it right away, you won't regret it. I can not judge if the cost/performance would be worth it though.
For best results, I am considering installing 1" XPS foam with 5/8" t&G, then the laminate.

I was going to put down Dri-Core, which is 24" x24" OSB board with moulded plastic airspace layer, but didn't want to mess with all the threshold problems and such, and decided THAT was overkill. The cork would not add much height at all, so I might be willing to do it, in addition to what Home Depot normally recommends.
