I'm not an electrician, but I can do the work with guidance.
I'm trying to add under cabinet lighting in my kitchen. I have a 3 way switch for the kitchen lights I'm trying to splice into. The power wire goes in to one switch, runs to my second switch, and finally to the lights. Where I need to tie in to the 3 way switch is on the second 3 way switch, just before it goes to the kitchen lights. The obvious problem I'm having is when I tried to tie into the switch, the under cabinet lights will only stay on when the first 3 way switch is 'on'. If I flip that switch, I lose power to the under cabinet lighting. Is there even a way to keep the under cabinet lighting on in this situation?
I've attached a drawing to try and explain how I have it hooked up.
Thanks
