I am re-doing a bathroom with a very small floor plan. In order to try and avoid having a register in the floor, and unable to get one in the wall due to other mechanical issues... I am wondering if it's possible to have a duct come up under a vanity cabinet, and have the pedestal of the vanity cabinet be vented and act as the register.

I am thinking I would need to line the pedestal in aluminum to keep the wood from absorbing the conditioned air. This idea might be crazy I know... any feedback is appreciated.

That's what I did-ran duct work from the wall register under the movable hifi cabinet so the air would dump out into the room and not into the back of the cabinet.
With 3"x10" duct it's hardly noticeable.
Watch for sharp edges.
