Setting up a shop in a farm out-building. Most wiring will be concealed, therefore NM-B is acceptable. However, I have a good bit of UF on hand. Any restrictions on using it in that situation?
You will find the UF cable very difficult to work with especially using it in multiple boxes with devices. It has an inner plastic jacket around the conductors that is hard to cut and strip. You'll save yourself some aggravation if you go out and get some regular NM-B cable.
There might be restrictions depending on the code cycle your area is under. NEC 2008 restricted the use of NM in outbuildings. Those restriction were eased with the 2011 NEC.
