Trying to repair P-trap ?? under sink! Help!

Hello, my mom's bathroom sink is constantly getting clogging so I decided that today was the day to fix it. I looked underneath the vanity and guess what I see, a mess. I did a little bit of research and realized that whoever installed this p trap was a jerk. Anyways, I removed old "p trap" and realized the drain pipe behind the wall was corroded. Is there any way that I can fix this pipe? Or do I have to remove old plumbing altogether?

Thanks for the advice. I really appreciate the help. But I just have one more question. What tool/tools do I need to stud out?
You're right, chandler48!!! I didn't realize for years why the drain in that sink smelled off. No matter how many times you clean it. It was driving me nuts.
Ok, I will be heading to Lowe's right now. Thank you guys for the good advice, saved me for having to call a plumber.
