Hi:

I bought a few of those LED retrofit kits for recessed lighting, which I attempted to install today. I was able to remove the baffle, which sort of "snapped" in, but it appears that the trim is attached to the recessed lighting can. It is not attached by springs. I've pulled very hard to remove it but it is clearly attached to the can, maybe by two hooks. How do I remove it so I can insert the LED light?

You may have to detach the lamp socket from the trim. There should be two springs that can be squeezed together on each side of the socket. It could also be a type of recessed light that cannot accept other trims. If you cannot post pictures, how about a brand name and model number?

I have seen some that have spring steel arms that press against the housing. Try pulling down while twisting back and forth.
