I am installing laminate flooring. I have a fireplace with tile around it that sits about 3/4-inch higher than the subfloor. We have some "hard surface reducer" trim pieces, but the reducer is not tall enough to clear the edge of the tile.
What would be the best way to install my transitions?
My thought is to cut a thin strip of wood, nail it to the plywood subfloor and install the trim track on top of the strip. This would raise the height of the transition and allow me to install it transitioning down toward the laminate. (Thin side of the transition over the tile, thick side over the laminate).
Any other suggestions?
Thanks.
