Hello, I have the Trane XR11 cooling my house (used to be). I noticed the cooling not sending cold air, then noticed the breaker at the circuit breaker tripped. When closing the breaker, it trips immediately. Figured it'd be a short. Went to the AC unit and pulled the cover off to find two non landed wires. One is purple, the other black. According to the diagram one goes to the tdr and other, not sure. Can anyone please point me in the right direction based upon these pics I took? The purple and black are zip tied together and looks like jumped together with a wire nut.

Could be the compressor has shorted or the fan motor. Disconnect the compressor wires at their point of connection to the compressor contactor and position them free from shorting to anything (tape if need be) and then try resetting the breaker.

The purple wires may be running to a crankcase heater that was not connected based on the winter weather in your area or maybe just got overlooked. The TDR sounds like a time delay relay that wouldn't be relevant to your problem at hand.

If you could post the schematic, it may help track down the short if the above test doesn't yield results.

Thank you so very much, I will absolutely perform the test for the compressor/fan short that you mentioned. And you are 100% correct in your post about the purple wires being designed to run to a crank case heater. I'll post my results soon. Appreciate your help more than I can express.
