I have made a wooden train table for my 2.5 year old son. I primed it with Sherwin Williams acrylic latex primer followed by two coats of color acrylic latex. It has dried about a week indoors and i scuffed it with a scotchbrite pad. My wife is pushing me to spray the topcoat (Minwax water based Polycrylic) but I don't want to do this prematurely and ruin the project. Have I given this enough time to cure and is it ready to topcoat??

Sounds like the finish paint was finish paint... why do you want to put a clear onit?

If it is dried for a week then it is ready for the top-coat.I agree with BJ-I wouldn't use a poly all you need is a good quality paint.
