mostly my husband can fix or repair any minor household problem. we've hit a road block. we replaced wax ring (leaking toilet no apparent reason for wet carpet) well now the darn thing will not flush. ..... we don't live close to hardware store .... 45 min drive (the first ring had black rubber gasket had on hand for such problem) so we head to lowes buy 3 rings, some couplings, new mounting bolts and flange. we replaced ring only hoping the black rubber thing was problem NOPE still not flushing. well we decide to run to lowes again now buying new toilet. install new toilet .... no flushie :furious: the floor is particle board and is very wet, do we need to replace flange (we run plumber snake thru old toilet and vent also run water thru old toilet while not install over bucket):confused1: some knowledgeable help would be appreciated

Partical board turns to oat meal if it gets wet one time and is now most likly trash. There is no just "fixing" it. The floor will now need to be cut out and replaced.

Ok, when you say won't flush, do you mean no water comes out of the tank when you trip the flush lever,or the water won't go down the drain?

Then it can be anyone of these items, there's a plug or someone dropped something into the toilet it's self, your dran line is plugged up, vents plugged up, septic tank is full, leach field has failed.

Remove toilet, dump a 5 gal. bucket of water down the drain, if it goes down then the plugs in the toilet.
If the water backs up then look for a clean out under the house to run a drain snake into. There should also be another one outside someplace. And no one of those little snakes for a sink drain will not work.

we've poured water directly down the drain no problem..... husband run snake down vent thinking maybe something had nested in it said the line dropped all the way down

manufactured home (trailer) i didn't put carpet in but husband will be removing carpet and replacing floor in the morning. looks like we'll also be replacing flange. :whistling2: i'll let you know how that goes.

Going to need to remove the vanity and use a Toe Kick saw to cut out the subfloor even with the walls, (remove the baseboards first) A sawsall or ossilating saw to cut out the outside corners.
Your should be able to rent a Toe Kick saw at Home Depot.

I make cuts between the floor joists to make it easyer to take the floor out in sections.
Use Advantec 3/4 T & G as the new subflooring, if your going with linolium sheet floor your going to need to add a layer of subfloor rated 1/4 sand plywood over it. Nail with underlaymant nails every 4" on the outside edges, and from 6 to 8" in the field.
Use floor patch on all the seams and any flaws and nail head dimples.
