I have an aging parent. I am concerned that she forgets to turn off the stove. Is there such a thing as a button (connected to a relay on a timer) that when pressed, will keep power to the stove for X minutes.

Yes.

Search for "Countdown Timer Switch"

Here is one at Amazon - but it is not just a "button". http://www.amazon.com/dp/B002RL9UYC/?tag=waterheaterti-20

However, I strongly suspect that this will NOT switch the current for a stove so an additional relay will be necessary.

Good Luck.
