I have the hardi-board installed and want to know how to get the 12" x12" tiles to stick without falling down on my head? Do I mix it thicker than normal and what trowel do I use?

What kind of tiles? How thick are the tiles?
Thin ceramic(1/4") you can use a 3/8" notched trowel. If 3/8" thick, I would use a 1/2" notched trowel.
There's special thinset for granite and marble, but I don't know if it's needed. It's about 2x the cost of modified thinset.
