Tiling over VCT tile wanting to use Mapei products

Hi everyone. Long story short I had to do an unscheduled renovation in my basement. There was a water issue that is now resolved. The previous owners had carpet on the floor which covered ugly VCT tile. I want to cover the tile in the bathroom and laundry room with porcelain tile. To all of the pros, my question is what Mapei products would you use for a skim coat. I am thinking of Granirapid. And can anyone recommend a tile contractor in the Metro Detroit area that uses Mapei products? Your time and help in answering my question is greatly appreciated.

By definition LVT is very easy to remove. Basically just pick it up. What's the issue?
