My house is 90 years old, The original tile job is set on 5" of cement over metal lathe. Theres no affordable way to remove all the cement. Because the plumbing has to be replaced I have to find a way to re-tile the floor. Past readings lead me to believe I can remove the old tile job, pour self leveler, then tile backer and then retile. I've tiled before, but only new construction. I need advice from someone who tiled a long time ago. Someone possibly older than me, even.
