My husband and I are having a disagreement about tiling out kitchen backsplash. We took down the old laminate that was on the walls which ripped up the drywall that it was attached to. I say we should replace the drywall, he says that we can place the tile over the ripped up mess. Can someone please settle this argument?

How ripped up?---You can safely prime the damaged goods with an oil based primer--fill any deep voids with fast setting drywall mud and tile away----
