When you're tiling to an outside corner -- with the tile ending at the corner, i.e. not wrapping around -- how do you deal with the fact that, when you're facing the non-tiled wall, i.e. seeing the tile edge-on, you can see the layer of thinset behind it? Looks kinda ugly. How do you clean up that edge? Latex caulk? Joint compound feathered out onto the adjacent wall? I'm considering both approaches, but just wondering what the pros do. Thanks.

Bull nose tile, has a rounded edge that blends into the corner.

Thanks. We're using bullnose, but it still has thinset behind it, no? Thinset that's still visible? Maybe I'm doing it wrong. I'll figure it out. Thanks again.

Thanks for that link. Maybe I'm being dense or unclear. Here are pictures to (hopefully) clarify. First pic shows the surface bullnose, with the one rounded edge of the tile right at the outside corner. Second pic shows what you see when looking at the same corner from a couple of steps to the left -- the rounded edge but also the thinset behind it. Just wondering how to hide that.

(For sake of honesty I can't claim credit for the tile work, which looks great aside from this little issue.)

Sorry if this is dumb -- maybe there's an obvious solution I'm missing, or this is one of these things people just live with.

RDS - In my bathroom, I had the same issue... did the walls/tiling myself, and figured some white caulk would be fine... doesn't look THE BEST, but I'm OK with it... curious if there are other creative solutions.

Caulk works well. Siliconized latex it it will be painted.

I installed drywall corner bead to the outside corner before tiling.

Clean out that groove so that it will accept caulk evenly all along its length and then use a siliconized caulk to fill the crack, Dress it off with a damp sponge and you'll be fine.
