Can I tile directly over my concrete basement floor?
My basement never floods. There's no sump system, and as long as there's air flow over the floor no moisture collects. I'm also looking to put a dehumidifier down there, but none yet.
Anyway, can I clean the floor with something and place 12x12 tiles directly over the concrete? Or do I need some kind of backer board?
The concrete is about 50yrs old, and isn't flaking anywhere.
