My slab has some moisture and efflorense problems. I did the chloride calcium test and came up with 3.4pds per 1000. One contractor has told me to use redgard to seal the slab but I am just not sure what to do. Any help is appreciated. Michael

Michael,

The calcium chloride test (ASTM F1869), is just one of several testing methods to measure moisture vapor emissions. It's a common test, but not the most reliable. Plus you have to remember that any test is a snap shot of what's going on at the time and is why it's recommended several tests are performed spanning some time for the conditions to change.

Read this, (several times) and see if you can make sense of what it says.
