I had to order a few more boxes of tile to fix a couple of tiles with lippage and finish a closet. The problem is they are from a different lot and are significantly thicker. In fact, they are about 1/32 thicker than the original lot and thinset combined.
I actually found a third lot, but they too are thicker. The thickness differences appear to be out of the manufacturer's tolerances, but there's nothing I can do about it.
Do tile or stone specialty stores have some type of saw or CNC machine that could take some thickness off of ceramic tiles? I can make the closet work, but I'd like to cut down 4 or 5 tiles for replacement on the main floor.
