Guys i have one of these pot fillers and the plumber gave me a male nipple in the wall to connect to : Pot filler has a female thread

Problem is that I cannot line it up to be horizontal

tried using pipe dope and Teflon tape and after i twist it on the wall it does not seem to line up ?

any ideas or suggestions ?

you may/will need a (strap) wrench to continue to turn faucet to the
proper rotation since faucet is only *horizontal* once every rotation.

Peace

Are you able to screw it on all the way but it's not straight or are you not able to get it started?

If you can get it screwed on but it's crooked, the pipe in the wall is crooked and would need to be corrected.

If it won't screw on threads may be damaged or a different size.
It is threaded well :i.e thread isn't damaged ... what i mean is that with every full turn it is horizontal only once - therefore with the last horizontal turn it is not tight and if it try and turn it once more it stops before it reaches the horizontal position.

if you think of it as a clock : if 9 is perfect - I'm stuck at 5

I can crack it with my hand ... but I'm afraid i will break it - how would a strap wrench help ? wont that break it as well ?

not sure why plumber didn't set faucet since he plumbed?

what is back splash surface made of?

strap wrench should allow little more turning torque without
scratching finish but should still slip before breaking faucet...

welcome to wonderful world of if it
were easy everybody could do it...

So how much nipple length is protruding from finished wall?

Peace

thx, it was a scheduling issue .. believe me if i had a product when he was here i would have got him to install it.

nipple length is about 1/2 inch from protruding wall.

backsplash is marble subway tile.

Ayuh,.... Is the faucet bottomin' out on the pipe threads, or up against the tile,..??

If on the pipe threads, ya oughta be able to go from 5 o'clock to 9 with the strap wrench mentioned,.....

If it's up against the tile, ya might have a bigger problem, stoppin' the leak,.....

Assuming the faucet you have is the one shown in the picture. Note that there are flat spots on the faucet where it screws onto the pipe. They are there for you to use a wrench to tighten it with. An adjustable wrench will work but the proper sized open wrench would be better. Less chance of slipping.
