I am replacing a White-Rodgers programmable thermostat with a Honeywell (RTH2310B). The issue is that the Rodgers has 8 terminals and the Honeywell has 5 terminals. How do I make the correct connections? Thanks!

Rodgers:
C Black Wire
L No wire
W2 White wire
E Brown wire
R Red wire
G Green wire
O Orange wire
Y Yellow wire

Honeywell:
Rh ?
Rc ?
W ?
Y ?
G ?

You are attempting to replace a heat-pump thermostat with a non-heat pump one.

They are not compatible.

Return the new one to the store, and ask for a heat-pump type. :whistling2:
