To prevent termites from getting into the perimeter of your house, do people here avoid putting wood mulch around the perimeter of their house, and instead use stone/rocks and/or rubber mulch?

I heard that cedar mulch is more termite resistant, but found it to be false.

I heard mulch is treated but maybe it doesn't help. Anyway, my concern with the mulch next to the structure would be to keep clearence from the actual building. The space between foundation and wood. Termites make a mud tunnel up from the ground, as long as you can keep an eye on that, okay. Some would probably say to avoid the risk but alot of us use the mulch to "pretty" up the landscape.
