Hi,
I am finishing my basement and had a few friends over to help out with attaching the plywood to the basement floor. In between the basement floor and the plywood was one inch of XPS foam. The next day, I had this feeling that they drilled through the floor. I checked and my worse nightmare came true, they did. What can I do to fix this? Epoxy Caulk into each hole?

i don't understand the problem. your friends did the right thing as the plywood needs to be fastened.
just put down a layer of 30lb. felt paper on top of the plywood, followed by your finished flooring and you're good to go.

They drilled through the concrete floor.......right to the dirt

But they put the tapcons in right?
The holes they drilled were to pre-drill the tapcons?
If going through plywood, 1" of foam, and the slab, your slab must be extremely thin.

Still, unless I'm missing something, if they've sent the tapcons home through those holes, who cares? It's as it should be.

I am worried that water is going to come through the holes they drilled......Hydrostatic pressure......

It all depends on where you are, what the water table is, what your soil is like, how your foundation was built, etc..

For example, I'm in the northeast in a 100 year old house. I have a big hole take out of my slab where the old coal furnace used to sit. There is just dirt there.
Never a drop of moister. My basement never gets wet.
This is unusual, though. Obviously there is no waterproofing membrane, no site drainage, etc... Just lucky.

Did your basement take in water before you put down the foam and plywood?

How old is your foundation? Does it have a drainage system built in around the outside?

Unless you previously took in water, I wouldn't worry about it.
Otherwise, I would build an accessible chase wherever the lowest point in the floor is, and install a sump pump.

What size screws did you use? In a normal thickness slab you would need a bit 5-6" long to go through it.
Did you have an issue with water before?
How old is the house?

I have never had water in my basement and also have a big hold in the corner of my basement and it has always been dry as a bone. All the run off from the roof is directed into the street. The front of the house has a porch, so no chance of water coming from the front, the side is the garage, so no chance and the back is graded away from the house. I also live in the Northeast, Long Island to be exact. What do you think now?

it will never be an issue.
put down your new floor and have fun.
just remember the underlayment. i would use 30lb. felt.

Probably should tear down the house, dig a new foundation, rebuild the house, find new friends....
