Installing new pvc fence but have to remove old wood picket fence. Any tips for how to get wood posts out easiest? Thanks

just get a 2 x 6 x 10ft drill a 1/2 hole 3ft from one end in the middle and bolt it to the bottom of the old wooden posts and use the leverage to pull them right out..

Fence jack from Tractor Supply. Best $ 30.00 I ever spent.
I don't know what a Fence jack looks like, but a length of chain and a Jack-all works well.
Wrap the chain around the post twice and connect back to itself.
Hook this loop onto the jack and start pumping.

I replaced a fence at our hunting camp once. Didn't want to haul off the concrete from the existing posts. Cut the old posts flush, moved the new post holes about two foot over, and dug new holes. Used the sod from the new holes over the old cut off posts. Can't tell the old fence was ever there.

Fence jack is an AMAZING deal! Pulls out wood posts, metal posts, whatever! Oddly enough just saw one being used last Thursday at Newport hospital, ri. Maintenance guy was pulling out a line of snow fence with those green metal posts that get pounded in but are hell to get out. He was just going down the line, pop pop pop! Ron
