Its the simple things that stump us some times..... Put down new toilet, new bolts, the whole shabang. Go to put caps over the T-bolts and they won't grab bc there's too much excess bolt sticking up. They aren't the snap off type, and I'm thinking if I use a hacksaw the nuts probably won't come back off. I want to be done with this darn thing tonight, thoughts?

Yeah, a hacksaw works ok but if you're in a big hurry like I usually am, then grab your hand-held grinder...SWEET!!...DONE!!
PS. A quick tip for you. If you place a stainless steel washer on the bolts first, before you put on the plastic washer, it will hold the plastic washer up off of the toilet just enough to make it real easy to snap on the cap. I've been doing that for years and it's real slick.

if you used 2 nuts on the bolt, one to stabalize it to the flange and the one on top of the washer under the china cap you can just take your nut driver and bend the top of the nbolt back and forth until it snaps off, then retighten the nut again just to make sure...if you use a hacksaw make sure to clean all the shavings up, they will stain the porcelain.
