I have a new Symmons valve on my outside shower and can't remove the little threaded 'lug' nut underneath the valve for final winterizing.
Has anyone a suggestion for removing?

A 3/8" socket wrench fits in perfectly

You don't need to remove that plug. Just remove the TA-10 stem/cartridge.

Edited to add: I'm a master plumber here in MA. I've been winterizing houses and outside showers for almost 20 years. You don't need to remove that plug.

Thanks for the replies. My sense tells me Ishmael is correct. That there won't be enough residual water to cause a problem.
