Hi,
My switches are actually located about a half an inch over the line from where the cabinet stops. I was thinking about moving it over to line up when I put in the tile? Please see attached pics. Also, I have some schluter edging (very thin face,) to use on the tile edges at this location, but someone suggested I take some unused tile and make a border. Any comments?
The tile is not in yet.

Totally a non issue, IMO. You can put "Exit" signs over the door and point to them when someone criticizes it.

well, it was a bigger issue when the tile line was going to be like this because the plate actually sat 1/2" beyond the tile edge so it definitely had to be moved in this case. (I have to rewire some stuff anyway, so the wall is going to have to be cut into anyway... moving the box at that point was no big deal.)
