has any one heard of a bct test concering bonding of a swimming pool and how deep is it required for a bonding wire to be buried. i built a pool that the county shut down due to lack of inspections there is no bonding wire coming from the pool to the pump i am trying to figure out if there is a way to prove or disprove wheather the wire is under the concrete amy help would be greatly appericated

What exactly are you trying to prove or disprove??? Is the bond wire there or not?

Is this a built-in pool, or above ground?

Seems to me, if you built the pool, you would know where the bond wire is and where it comes out. You should be able to walk over to it and point it out.

i did not build the pool it waas built by a pool contractor. they were the ones resp. for the inspections not me. iwas just wondering if anyone had ever heard of a bct test. this pool has been in a lawsuit for 4 years now and i just want my pool fixed if you know what i mean. I know the wire does not come from the pool to the pump ineed to know if anyone knows of a way to tell 100% if there is even a wire up under the concrete thanks for any help

Time for the jackhammer.

If you can't find the bonding wire intended for the pump motor, then it probably ain't there.

This is a major safety issue. Without proper bonding and an equipotential plane embedded within the concrete, the pool can be lethal, if sufficient stray voltage becomes present.

Anything from lightning to a downed power line can kill you in an improperly bonded pool. :furious:
