A relative has hired someone to replace a driveway at a significantly lower price than other bids. I suspect she's going to be ripped off, either by agreeing to cut corners beyond what's wise, or by the company simply lying about the work or using substandard materials or methods. The company is telling her they're going to use some sort of additive that makes rebar unnecessary. What can I do to help her not get ripped off?

There's nothing wrong with posting it here, even though it's that to yourself you obviously need some advice. I'm assuming the edit if he is going to be putting in the concrete will be fiber which is actually quite widely used. Rebar really doesn't do much good in a driveway because of the limited coverage. Can you get a copy of what he's proposing to do and post it here. You should be looking for the PSI of the concrete and whether it's going to have air entrainment (helps prevent freezing and thawing damage). We also want to see how thick of concrete is going to use, 4" is pretty normal in most areas.

I had a concrete driveway removed and replaced 11 months ago. No rebar is needed. The concrete company mixes batches of concrete with different tinsel strengths. Make sure a bed of gravel is placed down first and tamped or vibrated to compress to about 3.5-4".
Why not get a couple other estimates first? I would not rely on just one estimate
