Sump pump in crawl spae

651 Views 5 Replies 5 Participants Last post by  plumberinlaw
I live in NC. I had trouble with moisture in crawl space, and have since installed a sump pump. The discharge is through the block wall at ground level. Since there is a swale between my neighbor's house and mine, the ground is very soggy. I would like to change the discharge so the water goes into the down pipe under the kitchen sink. A simple T joint and rerouting of pipes looks like the solution. Does this sound like a reasonable solution?

Where does the swale go to?

A swale is intended to receive and collect water.

While a sump pump can have an underground pipe to a dry well, freezing of the pipe in winter can be a problem.
