My neighbour's sump pump drains in between both our lawns and because of the slight grade all the water comes out on to my sidewalk and is quite the problem in the late fall and early spring when my whole sidewalk turns into a skating rink and is quite hard to keep clear. I was told to dig a hole at the end of the drain pipe and bury a large barrel (rain barrel size), with holes in it, filled with gravel then aim the pipe down into it and cover everything back up. I'm thinking that the size of the barrel might be too big and would create an enormous amount of labour for me to do personally. (I don't have a man around to help with the work:no::wink
. Would this be a good solution, or who would I call to have this type of work done? I would like to have this done before the summer is over.
Thanks for any advice.
