My young kids got horns waggled...they bought a house with pool in back and concrete around pool funnels into area covered by deck U shaped. The basement window is in the back of u...when it rains hard..water arches over this window into house...That area under deck is 1 foot deep...cannot grade so that it drains off....Should the sump pump under deck be close to window or in the window well...We have moved a lot of water away by gutter work etc...but if it is a gully washer, they have 3 inches of water in that area of basement....any other suggestions and how big a sump pump, is 1hsp too big...and what brand would you think...thanks so much....Hope this is the last step...for Grandma to do...

No way should the grading run toward the foundation.
No way should you be dealing with water from the outside that came from the outside in a basement.
