My situation is this: I am a renter in a second floor flat. The outdoor back staircase is made of pressure-treated wood, including 4x4 posts. I installed a bike hook -- 3/16" screw that goes in about 2" -- into one of these posts.
My landlord called me today asking be to remove the bike hook because it was making the staircase "structurally unsound". She insists I attach the hook to a wooden fence (2x6" flats). My bike probably weighs no more than 30 lbs.
Is she right?
Any advice/help would be appreciated!
