I am trying to make the strongest screwed-in joint possible between metal drapery supports and a 1” x 10” pine board. The 1” x 10” (100” long) board will be screwed into the 16” on-center wall studs / dry wall. The three (3) metal drapery supports will be screwed into the pine board at the ends and at the center – where there are no wall studs. The actual thickness of my pine board is ¾ inches. What screws should I use? Should I bolt the metal support through the board thickness using washers and nuts? Should I use glue? If so, what type? Please help. Thank you.
