It's hard to understand exactly how that could happen but at any rate the ducting should not be resting on the ceiling. Either put running boards under it or strap it up.

Hello to all
Noticed a very faint spot on wood ceiling in country house bedroom. Looked in attic and noticed 1-2 ducts were down. Could these, touching hotter surfaces in attic cause the condensation to make a small water stain? Not sure how long the ducts have been down, but noticed it last year.
Pic 1 are ducts in ques; pic 2 are many ducts laying down off plenum
