I used Murphys Oil soap on my hardwood floor and it has left a sticky film on it. I heard to use some water/vinegar solution and it still seems to have a sticky film compared to where the Murphys was not used.

Does anyone know of a good cleaner or trick to remove this from my floors?

Do NOT use Murphy's (or any soap) to clean anything. Soap leaves a film which will build up and attract dirt over time. It'll look fine for several years, but you should be using detergent that claims it doesn't leave a film. You still should rinse of course. Rinse..... who does that anymore?

You should really look into the Bona products for hardwood. Wood does NOT like water as you know.

maybe I was wrong! I still seem to get a bit of stickyness after using the Bruce with microfiber mop.

What can I use to remove this? I can tell a big difference in the room that wasnt cleaned with Murphys versus what was.

I finally found a solution.

After a little internet research I found out a tiny amount of ammonia added to a squirt bottle of water will take the tackiness away! Now when I walk on it with my shoes you do not hear them sticking to the floor and making that squeaking noise.
