Anyone know anything about Caterpillar Generators? Wanting to install a 60kw and haven't been able to find a lot of consumer feed back on them.... Thanks

Not too many consumers have a 60Kw generator. Seems more like a commercial installation.

Wow - that's a lot for residential use.

My motorhome generator I am connecting it up to the house in case of an emergency - 4kw unit and will run the kitchen, gas furnace, a couple lighting and outlet circuits, etc.

My thoughts too. Do you have any idea what a 60 KW generator would cost?? A whole lot. Unless you have a 20,000 square foot mansion, that's way more standby power than you need.

We have a 750 Kw Cat at the office and are happy with it.

60kw at 240v = 250A. Most people don't need their entire house backed up at peak current draw, all the time.
