Finally got all my stair treads in place, I have a few gaps where the tread and sidewall meet. Majority of gaps are less than 1/8", most are fine. Sidewall is drywall. One gap is 1/4" which I think is too wide for caulk. Do I fill in with wood filler or caulk? Gone too far to yank the step out. Any advice would be appreciated.

Post some pictures so we can see what you see. You said "sheetrock", do you not have a skirt board??
