I recently sanded my 80 y.o. oak floors down to bare wood. I plan on finishing with a water based poly so i used a light stain to add a little amber color and bring out the grain. The stain went on seven days ago and is STILL not dry in some areas. Humidity is relatively low and temp has been maintained around 65. The areas that are not drying all seem to have a particular type of wood grain.

Has anyone run into this problem before? Any tips? I tried going over the floors with mineral spirits today which seemed to help a little. The stain is oil based Varathane. According to the can it should have been dry many days ago.

This is my first post, though I have been searching these forums for a long time and have found them very helpful. Thanks for any help you can give me!
